Service Engineer – CNC Press Brake & NC/CNC Shearing Machine Responsibilities
1. Machine Installation & Commissioning
Install Press Brake and Shearing Machines at customer site.
Perform machine leveling, alignment, and calibration.
Connect hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and CNC systems.
Conduct machine trials and performance verification.
Ensure machine meets specified accuracy standards.
2. Preventive Maintenance
Perform scheduled maintenance as per maintenance checklist.
Inspect hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses.
Check lubrication systems and replace lubricants when required.
Inspect electrical panels, wiring, drives, and servo systems.
Verify machine safety devices and interlocks.
3. Breakdown & Troubleshooting
Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and CNC faults.
Resolve machine breakdowns with minimum downtime.
Replace defective components and perform testing.
Analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Provide emergency service support to customers.
4. Machine Calibration & Accuracy Checks
Check ram parallelism and crowning system.
Verify back gauge accuracy and repeatability.
Check blade clearance and cutting accuracy in shearing machines.
Perform angle correction and bending accuracy validation.
Generate calibration and inspection reports.
5. Customer Training
Train operators on machine operation and safety.
Educate maintenance teams on routine maintenance.
Explain CNC programming and troubleshooting basics.
Demonstrate proper tooling setup and adjustment.
6. Technical Support
Provide onsite and remote technical support.
Assist customers with process optimization.
Recommend tooling, spare parts, and machine upgrades.
Support warranty and service-related activities.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare service visit reports.
Maintain installation and maintenance records.
Record machine performance and downtime data.
Submit spare parts requirements and service recommendations.
8. Safety Responsibilities
Follow company safety procedures during service activities.
Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed.
Verify all machine guards and emergency stops are functional.
Promote safe machine operation practices at customer sites.
