Key Responsibilities
Pre-Coating Preparation: Machine, undercut, rough-turn, or thread components to prepare surface substrates for thermal/plasma spray coatings, ensuring proper mechanical bonding properties.
Post-Coating Finishing: Turn and machine coated surfaces (including tough materials like Tungsten Carbide, Ceramic, or Stellite coatings) to achieve exact dimensional sizes and required surface finishes.
Machine Setup & Operation: Read and interpret blue engineering drawings, calculate dimensions, and set up conventional/heavy lathe machines with proper speeds, feeds, and cutting tools.
Quality Control: Use precise measuring instruments—such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and dial gauges—to perform quality inspections on parts during and after production.
Coordination with Spraying Team: Work closely with the thermal spray operators and grinding machine operators to ensure seamless component turnaround times.
Machine Maintenance: Conduct daily routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of lathe machines to avoid downtime. Maintain an organized workspace adhering to 5S safety standards.
