JOB TITLE & JOB CODE Job Title (Job Code): EN-GR-01: RSC ENG Metier Manager PURPOSE OF THE JOB Manage the Metier and Domain on a Site to meet the QCD objectives of the tenders/projects/programs Manage and develop the Team on Site Contribute to the continuous improvement of their Metier in collaboration with the Central Engineering team Promote and ensure deployment of AMS and corresponding Metier standards, Processes and tools on the Site with an adequate balance between Projects and Metier requirements Manage the Metier workload on Site ORGANISATION Organisation structure (job belongs to..) Rolling Stock and Component Reports directly to: Site Engineering Director Network & Links Internal Other Site Metiers Managers Project: Project Engineering Managers/ Chief of Development (PrEM/CoD) Workload Manager Other Site Departments Internal Other Site Metiers Managers Project: Project Engineering Managers/ Chief of Development (PrEM/CoD) Workload Manager Other Site Departments MAIN RESPONSABILITIES Performance Measurement/KPI’s People Management cycle on time / Succession plan Continuous improvement of the team performance for project/program activities Accountable for : Supporting the team in the resolution of issues in particular those involving other stakeholders (internal or external) and to support them in the definition of priorities. Managing the development of the site the Metier’s team to ensure the adequacy of the capacity vs workload vs skills with the support of the N+1. Ensuring adequate resources are appointed to the projects/programs/tenders allocated to the Site. Ensuring the proper follow-up of the QCD work packages for the Site Managing the forecast of the Site workload, based on hypotheses provided by the workload manager and identifying necessary resources to secure project QCD commitments. Ensuring the Engineering rules & processes are understood and applied. Reporting on the progress of the Site Metier activities and alert the N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting the achievement of the QCD commitment. Responsible for : Implementing an organisation to ensure the proper management of the tenders/projects/programs as per the applicable Metier instructions/processes According to the Site team size and workload, taking the Technical role and responsibilities on one project or tender Arbitrating in case of issue in allocation of the resources (staff, tools, …) for executing work-packages Defining the yearly Training objectives and arbitrating between the demands from the Domain Leaders Applying and follow-up the People Management Cycle on time for the Site according to N+1 and HR instructions Having a pro-active challenging view on the overall studies performed by the Site team to enhance their adequacy/consistency and compliance the applicable instructions and guidelines Providing feedback to Central Engineering on the application of the Metier processes Contributor for : Collaborating with the Central Engineering team for continuous improvement of the Metier Defining the Sub-contracting strategy in liaise with Sourcing and based on inputs from the Domain/EDU Managers MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES Educational Requirements Mandatory: Engineer degree or Master of engineering from University or Engineer school Mandatory: Engineer degree or Master of engineering from University or Engineer school Experience Mandatory: Experience of 5+ years in Train/Component engineering Experience of 5+ years team management Mandatory: Experience of 5+ years in Train/Component engineering Experience of 5+ years team management Competencies & Skills Good Communications and interpersonal skills Customer Focus / Management skills Structured and organised with Hands-on approach Conflict Management Fluent in English and national language on the site Resilience You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
