Key Responsibilities

• Perform fitting, assembly, installation, and maintenance of railway wagon and mechanical components.

• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and work instructions.

• Carry out fitting operations such as cutting, drilling, grinding, filing, tapping, threading, and alignment.

• Assemble and dismantle mechanical parts, fixtures, tools, and equipment.

• Use measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape, gauges, and other precision tools.

• Perform alignment, leveling, and dimensional checking of components.

• Assist in fabrication and assembly activities related to railway wagons, bogies, underframes, and other heavy engineering components.

• Identify defects or abnormalities in components and report them to the supervisor.

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment where required.

• Maintain tools, machines, and workplace in proper condition.

• Follow quality standards, SOPs, PPE requirements, and plant safety procedures.

• Coordinate with production, welding, quality, and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
