A Fitter is a skilled technician responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. They work in industries like manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, and engineering.

📋 Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

Assemble mechanical components and equipment

Install machinery and ensure proper alignment

Perform routine maintenance and repairs

Diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues

Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments

Ensure safety standards and procedures are followed

Test equipment after installation or repair

🛠️ Required Skills

Strong mechanical aptitude

Knowledge of tools and machinery

Ability to read engineering drawings

🎓 Qualifications

ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Fitter trade

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

Apprenticeship or relevant work experience
