Cutting & Shaping: Using shearing machines, power saws, cutting torches, and drills to cut and shape metal parts.
Assembly & Fitting: Aligning, welding, bolting, and riveting components together for assembly.
Quality Control: Measuring finished components with precision tools to ensure they meet specifications.
Finishing: Grinding, filing, and smoothing rough spots or sharp edges on fabricated parts.
Maintenance: Maintaining equipment and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
Appropriate state certification.
Proven experience working as a fitter.
Sound knowledge of local and state building codes.
The ability to use hand and power tools.
The ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems.
The ability to concentrate for extended periods.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
