JOB DESCRIPTION – CNC OPERATOR

Department: Production / Machining
Experience: 1–3 Years
Education: ITI / Diploma – Mechanical preferred
Industry: Auto Components / Manufacturing
Location: Auto Die Cast (India)

Job Purpose

To operate CNC machines efficiently and produce components as per drawing, quality standards and required production quantity, while ensuring proper in-process inspection and machine setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently.

• Perform machine setting and setting changes for different components.

• Load and unload components and maintain required machine parameters.

• Perform in-process product inspection during machining.

• Check dimensions using Vernier Caliper, Air Gauge and other measuring instruments.

• Identify dimensional variation and immediately report quality issues.

• Follow CNC programs, drawings and work instructions.

• Monitor tool condition and coordinate for tool changes when required.

• Maintain required production quantity and quality standards.

• Maintain 5S, machine cleanliness and workplace safety.

• Record production and inspection data accurately.

• Minimize rejection, rework and machine downtime.

Required Skills

• CNC machine operating knowledge

• CNC setting / setting change

• Vernier Caliper knowledge

• Air Gauge knowledge

• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances

• In-process inspection knowledge

• Tool and machine parameter understanding

• Good discipline and attention to detail

Preferred Candidate

• ITI / Diploma (Mechanical) candidates preferred.

• Candidates with experience in Auto Parts / Auto Component / Automobile manufacturing industry will be preferred.

• Qualification is not a strict barrier if the candidate has strong practical CNC operating experience and relevant technical knowledge.
