Balloon Forming / R&D Support Technician

About the Role
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to support balloon forming operations and R&D development activities in medical device manufacturing. The candidate will assist in balloon forming machine operations, prototype development, and process trials for medical balloon catheter products.
Manufacturing activities follow international quality standards such as ISO 13485 and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Support
• Assist in balloon forming machine operation for medical balloon production
• Support machine setup including forming temperature, pressure, and stretch parameters
• Prepare and load polymer tubing for balloon forming processes
• Monitor balloon forming cycles and report any process abnormalities
R&D & Development Support
• Assist engineers in prototype balloon development for new products
• Participate in process trials and experimental parameter studies
• Prepare engineering samples for design evaluation and testing
• Support feasibility trials for new balloon designs
Inspection & Testing
• Perform dimensional inspection including balloon diameter, length, and wall thickness
• Conduct visual inspection to identify defects such as wrinkles, pinholes, or deformation
• Assist in balloon burst pressure and expansion testing
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain process trial records and development documentation
• Record machine parameters and production data accurately
• Follow cleanroom discipline and contamination control practices
• Support documentation aligned with ISO 13485 requirements
Required Qualification
Diploma / ITI in:
Mechanical Engineering
Plastics Technology
Polymer Technology
Production Engineering
Tool & Die or related technical fields
Required Skills
• Basic knowledge of polymer materials such as PET, Nylon, or Pebax
• Ability to understand basic engineering drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with measurement tools (micrometer, microscope, gauges)
• Strong observation and quality awareness
• Willingness to learn balloon forming and medical device manufacturing processes
Preferred Knowledge
• Basic understanding of polymer processing or extrusion processes
• Exposure to cleanroom manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of medical device manufacturing practices
