Job Overview The AQ Engineer I supports Advanced Quality Engineering activities for automotive new product development (NPD) projects. This role ensures compliance with internal quality processes, APQP requirements, and customer quality standards throughout the product development lifecycle. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to monitor project progress, track quality deliverables, identify risks, and support successful PPAP approvals while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Job Requirements Monitor project tasks, milestones, and deliverables through the Product Portfolio Management (PPM) system. Ensure project teams adhere to internal development processes, quality requirements, and project execution standards. Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities in accordance with AIAG and VDA methodologies. Review and track quality-related deliverables throughout the New Product Development (NPD) process until PPAP approval. Monitor project health, quality performance, risks, issues, and corrective actions. Prepare and maintain project status reports, dashboards, and KPI metrics for management review. Facilitate follow-up of open actions and support timely resolution of project and quality concerns. Support internal project reviews, risk assessments, and quality gate reviews. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project management teams to achieve project objectives. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and the development of digital reporting and analytics solutions. What your background should look like Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 2-5 years of experience in Automotive Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields. Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, AIAG/VDA requirements, and Quality Core Tools (FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA ). Understanding of automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949, is preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, track metrics, and identify trends. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; exposure to Power BI or reporting tools is an advantage.
