KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare accurate 2D drawings in AutoCAD based on engineering inputs, manual sketches, existing drawings, samples,

GA drawings and layouts.

• Create and update 3D models where required. AutoCAD 2D proficiency is mandatory; 3D capability is preferred.

• Develop detailed manufacturing drawings for gears, shafts, housings, flanges, covers, base plates, couplings, and screw jacks

parts and gearbox assemblies.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, GA drawings, layouts, machining/fabrication details, dimensions, fits, tolerances

and standard mechanical symbols.

• Convert hand sketches, concepts, mark-ups, and design changes into clean and accurate CAD drawings.

• Apply correct dimensions, tolerances, fits, hole/thread details, sectional views, notes, and drawing standards suitable for

manufacturing.

• Revise drawings based on client requirements, internal design review, production feedback, or quality observations.

while maintaining proper revision control.

• Coordinate with Design, Production, and Quality teams to clarify drawing requirements and improve manufacturability.

• Check drawings for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and possible shop-floor errors before release.

• Maintain organized CAD files, drawing numbers, revisions, title blocks, and technical records as per company practice.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• AutoCAD 2D: Mandatory—strong command of layers, blocks, dimensions, layouts, sections, and plotting.

• AutoCAD 3D: Preferred; ability to create basic-to-intermediate mechanical 3D models is an advantage.

• Mechanical concepts: Basic understanding of machining, fits/tolerances, shafts, bearings, gears, fasteners, and

manufacturing processes.

• Drawing interpretation: Ability to understand GA, part, and assembly drawings and translate design intent accurately.

• Accuracy: Strong attention to detail, dimensional discipline, and drawing-checking habits.

• Professional skills: Clear communication, teamwork, time management, and willingness to learn.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience: 1 - 2 years in AutoCAD drafting / mechanical design / manufacturing drawings.

• Preferred exposure: Gearboxes, geared motors, gears, shafts, machinery, fabrication, or general manufacturing

environments.

• Work approach: Responsible, organized, quality-conscious, and comfortable coordinating with shop-floor teams.
