Senior Engineer Job Description – Asst Manager: Mechanical Design & Validation Position Title: Asst Manager – Mechanical Design & Validation Location: Baddi, Himachal Pradesh Department: Engineering / Mechanical Design Role Summary: The Deputy Manager – Mechanical Design & Validation will be responsible for leading mechanical design activities, validating engineering drawings and components, and ensuring accurate layout preparation. The role involves coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure design quality, compliance, and timely project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Drawing Creation & Validation Lead the creation, review, and validation of mechanical drawings. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and company guidelines. Approve and validate detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing and execution. CAD Design (AutoCAD) Develop and review 2D/3D designs using AutoCAD or similar tools. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of all design files. Guide team members in design best practices and tool usage. Mechanical Part Validation Validate mechanical components, assemblies, and systems against technical requirements. Conduct fitment, tolerance, and functionality checks. Collaborate with quality, production, and project teams for validation processes. Layout Preparation Prepare and review plant/equipment layouts and mechanical arrangements. Optimize layouts for space utilization, safety, and operational efficiency. Support project planning, installation, and commissioning activities. Team Management & Coordination Lead and mentor team members, ensuring timely completion of design tasks. Coordinate with cross-functional teams (projects, QA/QC, procurement). Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong expertise in mechanical design and drawing standards Hands-on experience with AutoCAD (mandatory) Knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies Experience in design validation and quality checks Good understanding of layout planning and industrial setups Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and team management abilities Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering 6–10 years of experience in mechanical design and validation roles Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred Preferred Skills: Experience with additional CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, etc.) Familiarity with industry standards (ISO, ASME, etc.) Exposure to manufacturing/plant engineering environments Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Accuracy and quality of design outputs Timely completion of design and validation activities Compliance with engineering standards Team productivity and project delivery timelines Experience Level Senior Level
