Job Description – Sales Engineer (Pharma Water System Solutions)

Position: Sales Engineer / Technical Sales – Pharma Water Systems

Location: Chandigarh

Experience: 2 – 6 Years

Role Overview

We are seeking a result-oriented Sales Engineer with strong experience in pharmaceutical water systems sales. The role involves driving business growth by promoting and selling high-purity water solutions (PW/WFI/RO/EDI) to pharmaceutical companies across Chandigarh regions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical clients in Pune & Goa

• Engage with stakeholders across QA/QC, Production, and Engineering teams

• Gather market intelligence and monitor competitor activities

2. Technical Sales & Solutioning

• Understand client requirements related to pharma-grade water systems

• Suggest and propose customized solutions (PW, WFI, RO, EDI, filtration systems)

• Conduct technical discussions and product presentations.

3. Sales Execution

• Manage the complete sales cycle: lead generation → quotation → negotiation → closure

• Track enquiries and ensure timely follow-ups

• Drive sales across:

• New projects and existing accounts

4. Business Development

• Generate new leads within pharmaceutical companies in Pune & Goa

• Strengthen existing accounts and expand business opportunities

5. Site Engagement & After-Sales Coordination

• Visit client sites for requirement analysis

• Coordinate with internal teams for execution and service support

• Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term relationship management

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Handle proposals, contracts, and statutory documentation

• Maintain CRM updates and sales pipeline records

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of pharma water systems / water treatment technologies

• Experience in technical sales of pharma or industrial equipment

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Strong B2B sales handling capability

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Chemical) OR Diploma / Science Graduate

• Experience: 2 – 6 years in technical sales

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience handling pharmaceutical clients

• Must have hands-on sales experience in Pune or Goa territory

• Prior exposure to pharma manufacturing companies is mandatory

• Candidates without Pune/Goa market exposure will not be considered

Preferred Background

• Experience in:

o RO / EDI / WFI / PW systems

o Pharma machinery / clean utilities
