Medical Representative

Job Title: Medical Representative (MR) General Medicine and Derma

Role Summary

A Medical Representative is responsible for promoting company pharmaceutical products to doctors, chemists, and hospitals, generating prescriptions, and achieving assigned sales targets while maintaining ethical and professional standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Doctor & Healthcare Professional Engagement

• Visit doctors, hospitals, and clinics as per daily call plan

• Promote company products by explaining features, benefits, composition, and indications

• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare professionals

2. Product Promotion & Detailing

• Conduct effective product detailing using visual aids and scientific data

• Communicate updated product knowledge, new launches, and schemes

• Handle doctor queries and objections confidently

3. Prescription Generation & Sales

• Generate prescriptions for promoted products

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets

• Monitor prescription trends and competitor activities

4. Chemist & Stockist Coordination

• Ensure product availability at chemists and stockist

• Collect secondary sales data and feedback

• Coordinate with distributors for order placement and stock movement

5. Market Intelligence & Reporting

• Collect market feedback on products, pricing, and competitors

• Submit daily call reports (DCR), expense statements, and sales reports on time

• Share insights with Area Manager / Sales Manager

6. Compliance & Ethics

• Follow company policies, promotional guidelines, and Pharma compliance norms

• Ensure ethical promotion practices at all times

• Maintain proper records of samples and promotional inputs

7. Territory Management

• Plan and manage assigned territory efficiently

• Identify potential doctors and new business opportunities

• Maintain territory growth and coverage consistence

• Willingness to travel extensively

Educational Qualification

• Graduate in Science / Pharmacy / Life Sciences (preferred)

• Experienced (1-3 years) candidates may apply
