The Field Sales Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the overall sales performance of Avion Green Astra Solar Energies across Visakhapatnam. The FSM leads, coaches, and manages a team of Field Sales Executives and coordinates with the Telecalling team to maximise lead conversion and revenue. This role demands a strong mix of hands-on selling ability, team leadership, market development, and strategic thinking to capture maximum market share in the booming solar sector across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
02 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Sales Management
▪ Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5–15 Field Sales Executives across Visakhapatnam
▪ Set individual and team monthly sales targets and develop action plans to achieve them
▪ Conduct daily morning briefings, weekly performance reviews, and monthly target-setting sessions
▪ Accompany team members on joint customer visits to coach pitching, objection handling, and closing techniques
▪ Track each FSE's daily visits, pipeline, and closure rate through CRM and daily reports
▪ Drive accountability — identify low-performers early and implement performance improvement plans
Direct Sales & Key Account Management
▪ Personally handle high-value residential (50 kW+), commercial, and industrial solar prospects
▪ Build and manage relationships with key B2B accounts — industries, hospitals, hotels, educational institutions
▪ Negotiate and close large-volume orders with commercial and industrial clients
▪ Develop channel partnerships — solar dealers, EPC subcontractors, and housing developers
Market Development & Business Strategy
▪ Map assigned territories (Vijayawada / Hyderabad districts) for untapped residential and industrial solar potential
▪ Identify high-potential micro-markets — new townships, MSME clusters, industrial corridors
▪ Plan and execute on-ground activation events — solar camps, RWA meetings, industry expos
▪ Track competitor activities, pricing, and product offerings and share market intelligence with management
▪ Provide strategic inputs to management on pricing, product bundling, and go-to-market strategy
Cross-functional Coordination
▪ Coordinate with the Telecalling team to ensure lead quality, follow-up discipline, and appointment conversion
▪ Work closely with the Operations team on site survey scheduling, installation timelines, and customer commitments
▪ Coordinate with Finance on customer payment collection, credit terms, and order documentation
▪ Participate in new product launches, subsidy scheme rollouts, and government tender processes
MIS, Reporting & Forecasting
▪ Prepare and submit weekly sales pipeline reports and monthly revenue forecasts to senior management
▪ Analyse sales data — territory-wise, product-wise, and FSE-wise — and take corrective action
▪ Monitor team CRM hygiene and ensure 100% daily data update compliance
▪ Report on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive landscape monthly
03 ELIGIBILITY & SKILLS
✓ Any graduate — MBA or equivalent preferred
✓ 4–9 years of sales experience with minimum 2 years in a team leader / manager role
✓ Strong background in solar, EPC, electrical products, real estate, or FMCG field sales
✓ Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets
✓ Leadership skills — ability to inspire, coach, and hold a team accountable
✓ Deep understanding of solar market in AP and Telangana — preferred
✓ Knowledge of PM Surya Ghar Yojana, DISCOM processes, and government solar schemes
✓ Excellent communication in Telugu and English; Hindi preferred
✓ Own vehicle (2-wheeler or 4-wheeler) with valid licence — mandatory
