Job Title: Business Development Executive (BDE) – Field Sales

Role Overview

As a Business Development Executive in Field Sales, you will drive merchant acquisition and payment solution adoption for PhonePe. You will be on the ground, engaging directly with retail merchants, small-to-medium businesses (SMBs), and commercial outlets to drive revenue growth and expand PhonePe's digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Merchant Onboarding: Identify, pitch, and onboard offline retail merchants to PhonePe's payment suite (QR codes, POS machines, SmartSpeakers, and financial services).

Territory Expansion: Map assigned territory, generate leads, and execute daily field visits to achieve monthly merchant acquisition and transaction targets.

Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with existing merchants, ensuring high adoption rates, resolving payment queries, and replacing damaged hardware.

Product Cross-Selling: Cross-sell additional value-added services such as merchant loans, insurance, and promotional tools to existing merchant accounts.

Market Intelligence: Gather real-time competitor intelligence, local market trends, and merchant feedback to share with regional sales leadership.

Key Requirements

Education: Graduate/Diploma in any discipline (12th Pass considered with relevant experience).

Experience: 0–3 years of field sales experience (experience in FinTech, FMCG, Telecom, or Merchant Onboarding is strongly preferred).

Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills in English and the regional language.

Logistics: Smart Phone (Android) and a two-wheeler with a valid driving license are mandatory.

Mindset: Highly target-driven, self-motivated, with a high degree of field stamina and local geographical knowledge.
