Credit Officer

• Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of clients, acting as their primary contact for credit-related needs.

• Credit Analysis and Risk Assessment: Review and analyze credit applications, evaluate financial data, and assess the creditworthiness and risk associated with each client.

• Sales and Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, meet sales targets, and cross-sell banking products and services to existing clients.

• Loan Application Processing: Gather necessary documentation, prepare credit applications and records, and present them to the credit committee.

• Loan Monitoring and Compliance: Monitor existing loans, ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations, and manage loan renewals.

• Problem-Solving: Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly.

• Internal Coordination: Liaise with internal teams, such as loan officers and collections departments, to ensure smooth operations. 

Key skills and qualifications

• Financial Acumen: Strong analytical skills to assess financial data, understand credit risk, and calculate financial ratios.

• Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.

• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple client accounts and tasks efficiently, with strong attention to detail.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

• Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field such as Finance, Banking, or Business Administration.
