Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and skilled South Indian Cook to prepare authentic South Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate should have expertise in cooking a variety of South Indian dishes, including meals, breakfast items like dosa, idli, vada, sambar, chutneys, and various curries, using traditional techniques and fresh ingredients.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes such as South Indian meals, dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, sambhar, rasam, and different types of chutneys.
Maintain food quality and consistency while following traditional recipes.
Ensure hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen according to food safety standards.
Manage kitchen inventory, including spices, grains, and fresh ingredients.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes are cooked perfectly.
Customize dishes as per customer preferences and dietary restrictions.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food preparation and service.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a South Indian Cook in a restaurant, hotel, or catering service.
Deep knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety regulations.
Good communication skills and teamwork ability.
Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, or late shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in vegetarian South Indian dishes only.
Prior experience in a commercial kitchen or catering service.
