Job Summary
The Commis – Pastry is responsible for assisting in the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, desserts, and bakery items while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency as per company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of pastries, desserts, cakes, chocolates, and baked goods
Follow standard recipes and portion controls as instructed by the Pastry Chef
Support in daily mise-en-place and production planning
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry section as per FSSAI standards
Handle equipment and tools safely and responsibly
Assist in plating and presentation of desserts for service
Monitor freshness and quality of raw materials and finished items
Follow food safety, health, and safety guidelines at all times
Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 6 months to 2 years of experience as a Commis in Pastry/Bakery
Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry ingredients
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Hospitality or Bakery diploma/certification preferred
