Job Overview

Our busy eatery is experiencing rapid growth, and is in need of a hard-working, self-motivated SR. Cook to join our team. The SR. Chef will manage the kitchen, develop menus, ensuring that each dish is nutritious and cost-effective, and collaborating with a team of kitchen staff to deliver food that meets the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Assisting Chef in overall management of Kitchen/Production, playing his role in his absence and also carrying out any responsibilities as per Chef's directions.

· Allocating jobs to all the production staffs.

· Planning leave schedule of production staff and ensure perfect balance of work and adequate time for rest for production team.

· Checking and ensuring attendance of all Production Staff.

· Ensuring all the production staff are doing jobs allocated to them strictly following the set processes and maintaining timeline of shift readiness.

· Briefing all the production staff about previous day's area of concerns/mistakes/defects and guide improvement along with action plans on a daily basis.

· Ensuring workplace harmony by treating all the staff members with respect and providing fair opportunity to grow as per individual potential capabilities.

· Checking all the items in fridge and ensure no spoiled or about to spoil item is used in production.

· Ensuring optimum materials requisitions and verifying the quality and quantity of raw materials received as per requisitions given.

· Ensuring preparations for production (settings) are ready in all respect before 12 Noon for Lunch shift and before 7 PM for dinner shift.

· Manpower training/handholding to ensure production quality, look, taste, fragrance and portion size of food as per the set standard. This includes, identifying the capabilities/potentials of people and develop them accordingly for higher responsibilities.

· Also training people on multiple tasks to create back up in each position to help smooth operations, especially during crisis/shortage of manpower situations.

· Update about manpower requirements well in advance and help sourcing manpower as far as possible.

· Managing quality of guest food as well as staff food.

· Cost control ensuring quality and taste of the set standard.
Requirements & Skills Set

· Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment.

· Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes

· Familiarity with sanitation regulations.

· Excellent time management abilities.

· Leadership skills.

· Great leadership and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply.

· Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.

· Passion and pride for delighting people with food.
