We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandoor Chef to prepare high-quality tandoor dishes while maintaining hygiene, consistency, and kitchen safety standards. The ideal candidate should have expertise in handling tandoor ovens, marinating meats and vegetables, and ensuring timely food preparation in a fast-paced kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook tandoor items such as kebabs, tikkas, naan, roti, and other Indian breads.
Marinate meats, seafood, paneer, and vegetables according to standardized recipes.
Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
Ensure food is prepared and presented according to quality and portion standards.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to maintain consistency.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the tandoor station and kitchen equipment.
Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
Assist with inventory management and report stock shortages to the Head Chef.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy hours.
Minimize food wastage and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef in a restaurant, hotel, or catering establishment.
Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, especially tandoor cooking techniques.
Ability to prepare a variety of tandoor breads and grilled dishes.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Physical stamina to stand for long hours and work near high-temperature cooking equipment.
