Job Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious, hygienic, and high-quality meals as per the approved menu. The role includes maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring food safety standards, and supporting efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to the prescribed menu.

• Ensure food is cooked in a hygienic, safe, and timely manner.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, utensils, equipment, and work area.

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.

• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.

• Store food items properly to prevent spoilage and wastage.

• Monitor food stock and inform the supervisor regarding shortages or replenishment needs.

• Ensure proper portion control and minimize food wastage.

• Coordinate with the Kitchen Supervisor/Management regarding daily meal planning and special dietary requirements.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.

• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the management related to kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10th Pass (preferred).

• Certificate or diploma in cooking/catering is desirable.

• Previous experience as a Cook in a hospital, hostel, canteen, restaurant, or institutional kitchen is preferred.

• Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.

• Understanding of food hygiene and sanitation standards.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

• Physical stamina to stand for long hours.

Working Conditions

• Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.

• Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment.

• Compliance with organizational policies and safety protocols.
