Job Summary

We are looking for passionate and skilled Commis Chefs (I, II & III) to join our kitchen team. The role involves supporting daily food preparation and ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency in bakery, pastry, and continental food production.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in daily food preparation and production according to recipes and quality standards.

• Prepare ingredients including portioning, chopping, measuring, and storing food items.

• Mix, prepare, and bake bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods.

• Shape dough for items such as croissants, bagels, muffins, and rolls.

• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, grills, fryers, and baking equipment safely and efficiently.

• Ensure food is prepared according to presentation standards and food preparation guidelines.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen according to food safety standards.

• Assist in coordinating with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth operations.

• Follow FIFO practices and proper storage procedures to reduce wastage.

• Support the team in maintaining inventory, prep lists, and production schedules.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  

Job Requirements

• Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, Bakery, or Hospitality preferred.

• Experience Requirements:

  • Commis III: 1+ year experience

  • Commis II: 2+ years experience

  • Commis I: 3–4+ years experience

• Basic knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and dessert production.

• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards.

• Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, grinders, and Bain Marie.

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

• Ability to work in fast-paced kitchen environments including weekends and holidays.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
