Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis I – Pastry to join our pastry team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in pastry production, dessert preparation, baking techniques, and food presentation. The candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods while maintaining hygiene, food safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, cookies, and other baked products as per standard recipes.
Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all pastry items.
Assist in planning and developing new dessert and bakery menu items.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section.
Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor about inventory requirements.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO/FEFO).
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
Minimize food wastage and maintain portion control.
Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff when required.
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service.
Comply with company SOPs and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Certification in Bakery & Pastry Arts, Hotel Management, or a related field is preferred.
2–4 years of experience as a Commis I – Pastry or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry production, and dessert preparation.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
