Job Description – Chinese Cook (Momos Specialist)

Position: Chinese Cook – Momos Specialist
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Chinese Cook / Momos Specialist with hands-on experience in preparing different varieties of Momos and Indo-Chinese snacks. The candidate should be able to prepare momos, maintain consistent taste and quality, and efficiently handle busy service hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare different varieties of Momos, including:

  • Steam Momos

  • Fried Momos

  • Kurkure Momos

  • Peri Peri Momos

  • Chilli Oil Momos

  • Paneer Momos

  • Veg Momos

  • Wheat Momos

  • Other specialty momos as per the café menu

• Prepare momo filling with the correct balance of vegetables, paneer, spices, sauces, and seasonings.

• Prepare momo dough, wrappers, stuffing, folding, and shaping with consistent size and portion.

• Prepare different momo sauces, dips, chutneys, and accompaniments.

• Prepare spicy, tangy, creamy, and Indo-Chinese style momo sauces as required.

• Ensure proper cooking of momos while maintaining texture, taste, and presentation.

• Prepare momo platters and specialty momo combinations as per the café's recipes.

• Assist with preparation of basic Chinese/Indo-Chinese snacks when required.

• Maintain consistent taste, portion size, quality, and presentation.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the cooking and preparation area.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of vegetables, paneer, sauces, spices, and other ingredients.

• Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.

• Handle high-volume orders during peak hours while maintaining speed and quality.

• Follow standard recipes and portion controls.

• Coordinate with other kitchen staff for smooth and timely order preparation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Momos Cook / Chinese Cook / Indo-Chinese Cook preferred.

• Strong practical knowledge of Momo preparation from scratch.

• Must be able to make momo wrappers and fold momos properly.

• Good knowledge of different momo fillings, sauces, chutneys, and cooking methods.

• Experience with Steam, Fried, Kurkure, Peri Peri and other varieties of Momos will be an advantage.

• Good understanding of Chinese/Indo-Chinese flavours and seasoning.

• Ability to maintain consistent taste and quality.

• Good speed and efficiency during busy hours.

• Knowledge of basic food safety and kitchen hygiene.

• Ability to work independently as well as with a kitchen team.

Preferred Candidate

• Experience in a café, QSR, restaurant, momo outlet, or Chinese/Indo-Chinese food outlet.

• Hardworking, punctual, reliable, and disciplined.

• Able to follow the café's recipes and preparation standards.

• Willing to learn new recipes and menu items.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
