HOTEL COOK – JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Hotel Cook / Chef
Location: Thiru Vi Ka Nagar, Chennai – 600082

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and hardworking Hotel Cook to prepare quality food for customers. The candidate should have good knowledge of cooking, food preparation, kitchen hygiene and maintaining consistent taste and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare South Indian, North Indian and other Indian dishes as per the hotel menu.
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and special dishes as required.
Ensure proper taste, quality and presentation of food.
Check the freshness and quality of vegetables, groceries and other ingredients.
Follow proper food safety and hygiene procedures.
Manage cooking time and ensure food is served on time.
Maintain proper usage and storage of ingredients.
Minimize food wastage and control kitchen expenses.
Clean and maintain cooking equipment and utensils.
Coordinate with kitchen helpers and other staff.
Follow instructions from the Hotel Manager / Head Chef.
Support menu preparation and daily kitchen requirements.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: 1–5 years in Hotel / Restaurant cooking preferred.
Good knowledge of South Indian cooking is preferred.
Knowledge of vegetarian dishes will be an advantage.
Ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.
Good hygiene and cleanliness habits.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Punctual, responsible and hardworking.
Educational qualification: Not mandatory; cooking experience is more important.
Working Conditions
Full-time employment
6 days working per week
Shift duty as per hotel requirements
Food / accommodation can be provided depending on company policy.
Salary
₹18,000 – ₹25,000 per month, depending on cooking skills and experience.
Work Location: Thiru Vi Ka Nagar, Perambur, Chennai – 600082.
