Job Summary
The Café Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. This role requires creativity, efficiency, and a passion for delivering excellent café-style meals and baked goods in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items such as breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads, snacks, and baked goods
Ensure food is prepared and presented according to café standards
Assist in menu planning and introducing seasonal or specialty items
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization at all times
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
Minimize food waste and manage portion control
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
Train and guide kitchen assistants when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a café, bakery, or restaurant
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Creative approach to menu items and presentation
Culinary training or certification (preferred)
