Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chinese Commis I to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing authentic Indo-Chinese and Asian cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Chinese dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.

• Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and quality of all dishes.

• Perform mise en place and maintain readiness for service.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation in compliance with food safety standards.

• Monitor inventory and inform the Chef about stock requirements.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.

• Minimize food wastage and control costs.

• Work efficiently during peak service hours.

• Support senior chefs and collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a Chinese Commis I or similar role.

• Good knowledge of Indo-Chinese cuisine, sauces, gravies, noodles, rice, wok cooking, and appetizers.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

• Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to learn.

• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Preferred Skills

• Expertise in wok cooking.

• Knowledge of inventory management and portion control.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Ability to maintain consistency under pressure.
