Key Responsibilities
Assist the CDP/Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations and food production.
Prepare and cook dishes as per standard recipes, menus, and portion specifications.
Handle daily mise en place, including cutting, chopping, marination, preparation of gravies, sauces, stocks, and other ingredients.
Support bulk food production for corporate, institutional, industrial catering, and events.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation.
Ensure timely preparation of food according to production schedules and service requirements.
Monitor the quality and freshness of raw materials before use.
Follow proper FIFO/FEFO, food storage, labelling, and temperature-control practices.
Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and personal grooming.
Follow HACCP, FSSAI, food safety, and company SOPs.
Minimize food wastage through proper preparation, portion control, and utilization of ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the assigned kitchen section.
Assist in supervising and guiding Commis and Kitchen Helpers when required.
Coordinate with the CDP and other kitchen sections for smooth production.
Report shortages, quality issues, equipment problems, and other operational concerns to the senior chef.
Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are used safely and maintained properly.
