Barista Job Requirements

The Percolate Café

Role Overview

We are looking for energetic, customer-focused baristas who can prepare high-quality beverages, deliver excellent service, and maintain smooth café operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, shakes, and other menu items according to SOPs.

• Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and brewing equipment safely.

• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and quality standards.
  Preparing hot/cold drinks and following recipes is one of the core duties of baristas.

2. Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately.

• Suggest menu items and upsell add-ons.

• Handle complaints politely and professionally.
  Baristas are expected to create a welcoming environment and assist customers beyond just making drinks.

3. Operations & Cash Handling

• Operate POS systems and process payments.

• Pack takeaway orders and manage delivery orders.
  Handling transactions quickly and accurately is a key responsibility.

4. Hygiene & Cleanliness

• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, counters, and seating areas.

• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
  Keeping workspaces clean and safe is essential for customer satisfaction.

5. Stock & Inventory Support

• Restock cups, milk, syrups, and supplies.

• Assist in inventory checks and reporting shortages.
  Baristas often help monitor inventory and restock supplies.

• Strong communication and customer-handling skills

• Multitasking and time management ability

• Attention to detail and quality control

• Teamwork and positive attitude
  Communication, multitasking, and attention to detail are key barista skills.

Basic Requirements

• Minimum: 10th pass

• Prior café or customer service experience preferred

• Willingness to work shifts (morning/evening/weekends)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Clean, professional appearance
