Position Title: Quality Control Engineer
Department: Quality Assurance / Production
Reports To: Production & Quality Supervisor
Job location: Industrial Area C Ludhiana
Role Summary:
The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all
threaded rods produced meet required quality standards and customer
specifications. This includes in-process inspection, final product
testing, documentation, and continuous improvement to maintain
compliance with ISO/ASTM/EN standards.
Key Responsibili3es:
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of threaded rods
(dimensions, pitch, tensile strength, coating thickness, etc.).
• Perform tests such as Salt Spray Test, Coating Adhesion, and
Metallurgical Analysis as per requirement.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures, work
instructions, and checklists.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-
specific requirements.
• Document inspection results and prepare reports for
management and customers.
• Analyze root causes of defects and recommend corrective &
preventive actions.
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to
minimize rejections and rework.
• Support calibration of gauges, tools, and measuring instruments.
• Train operators and inspectors in quality practices.
Skills & Qualifica3ons:
• Bachelors degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgical
Engineering.
• Minimum 2 or 3years of experience in quality control,
preferably in fasteners or metal products.
• Strong knowledge of thread standards (UNC, UNF, DIN,
ISO, ASTM).
• Proficiency in measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers,
thread gauges, coating thickness meter).
• Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (5 Why,
Fishbone, 8D).
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Percentage of defects identified and corrected before
dispatch.
• Number of customer complaints related to quality.
• First Pass Yield (FPY) percentage.
• On-time completion of inspections and reports.
• Compliance rate with ISO/ASTM standards.
Reduction in rework and scrap percentage.
