The Purchase Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, and purchasing pharmaceutical products and related materials at optimal cost, quality, and timelines. The role ensures uninterrupted supply, vendor management, and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Plan and execute procurement of pharmaceutical products based on demand and stock levels
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers, manufacturers, and C&F agents
Negotiate prices, credit terms, discounts, and delivery schedules
Ensure timely placement and follow-up of purchase orders
Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and overstocking
Ensure compliance with pharma regulations, GDP, and company policies
Coordinate with sales, warehouse, and finance teams
Handle returns, shortages, breakages, and expiry-related issues with suppliers
Analyze purchase data and prepare MIS and procurement reports
Monitor market trends, new launches, and supplier performance
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement and supply chain
Good communication and coordination skills
Attention to detail and compliance-oriented mindset
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business, or related field (preferred)
5+ years of experience in procurement/purchase, preferably in pharma distribution
Knowledge of local and national pharma suppliers
