🔹 Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, laboratory equipment, chemicals, consumables, and services required for research, production, and quality operations in a biotechnology company. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards (GMP, GLP, ISO).
🔹 Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Sourcing
Identify and evaluate suppliers for biotech raw materials, reagents, media, enzymes, chemicals, lab consumables, and production equipment.
Obtain quotations, compare pricing, and negotiate contracts.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery.
Maintain approved vendor list (AVL).
2. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure purchased materials comply with GMP, GLP, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
Verify Certificates of Analysis (COA), MSDS, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with QA/QC departments for vendor qualification.
3. Inventory Coordination
Work closely with stores and production teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Monitor stock levels and initiate timely reordering.
Avoid stockouts of critical lab and production materials.
4. Vendor Management
Develop long-term supplier relationships.
Conduct vendor performance evaluations.
Resolve supply chain issues and discrepancies.
5. Cost Control & Budgeting
Monitor procurement budgets.
Identify cost-saving opportunities.
Analyze market trends for biotech materials.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain purchase records and documentation.
Prepare procurement reports for management.
Ensure proper ERP system entry (SAP/Oracle or similar).
🔹 Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2–5 years of procurement experience (preferably in biotech, pharma, or chemical industry).
Knowledge of laboratory materials and biotech production requirements.
Familiarity with regulatory standards (GMP, GLP, ISO).
