Job Summary
As a Data Entry Operator on IGL gas pipeline projects, you will support contractors executing MDPEl pipeline laying, last-mile connectivity in Delhi. The role involves accurate data capture and management of pipeline construction, commissioning, billing, and compliance records to ensure seamless project execution and handover to IGL.
Key Responsibilities (Pipeline Project Specific)
Input customer data for new PNG connections, meter installations, and last-mile connectivity (LMC) works.
Handle billing & measurement data: Enter contractor invoices, measurement books (MB), and quantities for pipeline materials (MDPE coils, fittings, GI pipes, etc.).
Update GIS-related basic data, asset tagging, and network mapping inputs.
Scan, digitize, and organize site photographs, test certificates, safety checklists, and NOC documents.
Generate MIS reports on daily/weekly pipeline progress, pending connections, and material reconciliation for submission to IGL.
Verify data accuracy (e.g., pipeline lengths, joint numbers, pressure test results) and flag discrepancies.
Support real-time data entry during emergency or shutdown works.
Coordinate with site engineers, surveyors, and fusion jointers for timely data collection.
Maintain confidentiality of project drawings, network maps, and commercial data.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical:
Typing speed: Mini data 20-30 WPM with 95%+ accuracy.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, charts), MS Word, and Google Drive.
Basic knowledge of ERP, project management tools, or IGL-specific portals (preferred).
Ability to handle large volumes of field data quickly.
Domain Knowledge (Big Advantage):
Familiarity with gas pipeline terms: MDPE, PE, Steel pipelines, electrofusion, butt fusion, hydro testing, LMC, CNG, PNG, etc.
Understanding of CGD project documentation and PNGRB/IGL compliance requirements.
Soft Skills:
High attention to detail and error-free data handling.
Ability to work under pressure at project sites or offices.
Good coordination with field teams.
Basic English + Hindi (reading/writing).
Qualifications
12th Pass / Graduate (any stream; B.Com, BA, or Computer diploma preferred).
Computer course certificate (Tally, MS Office, or Data Entry) is a plus.
Delhi/NCR local candidates preferred for immediate joining.
Preferred Experience
Prior work with infrastructure/pipeline contractors, utility companies, or IGL projects.
Exposure to construction billing, measurement books, or gas distribution documentation.
Working Conditions
Based at contractor’s project office or IGL site locations in Delhi.
May require occasional field visits to pipeline laying sites.
General shift (usually 9.30 AM – 6 PM); extended hours during project peaks common.
Contract through agency – benefits limited (PF/ESIC as per labour laws).
High demand during active pipeline expansion phases.
This role is critical for timely project documentation, billing, and successful project closure with IGL. Most such positions are filled through contractors rather than direct IGL recruitment.
