Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the HPCL LPG gas agency, ensuring smooth distribution, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and efficient team management. The role involves coordination with HPCL systems, delivery logistics, safety protocols, and financial tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
Supervise LPG cylinder booking, billing, and delivery processes
Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of cylinders (domestic & commercial)
Monitor stock levels of filled, empty, and defective cylinders
Coordinate with HPCL plant and transporters for supply chain efficiency
2. Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to HPCL guidelines and government LPG regulations
Maintain safety standards for storage, handling, and transportation of cylinders
Conduct regular safety checks and drills
Maintain statutory records, licenses, and documentation
3. Customer Service
Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations
Ensure proper KYC documentation for new connections
Monitor customer satisfaction and service turnaround time
Promote digital bookings via HP Gas App / IVRS
4. Team Management
Supervise delivery staff, office executives, and godown workers
Allocate routes and responsibilities to delivery personnel
Train staff on safety, service standards, and operational procedures
Monitor attendance and performance
5. Financial & Administrative Control
Manage daily cash flow, billing, and reconciliation
Monitor credit customers and outstanding payments
Maintain records of sales, expenses, and inventory
Assist in audits and HPCL inspections
6. Technology & Reporting
Operate HPCL software systems (like HP Gas portal)
Generate daily/weekly MIS reports
Track bookings, deliveries, and pending orders
Ensure accurate data entry and system updates
7. Business Development
Support growth in domestic and commercial LPG customers
Identify new business opportunities (hotels, industries, etc.)
Maintain relationships with key clients
Required Qualifications:
Graduate in Commerce / Business Administration / Any field
2–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or gas agency preferred
Knowledge of LPG distribution systems is a strong advantage
Skills Required:
Strong operational and organizational skills
Basic accounting and inventory management knowledge
Leadership and team handling ability
Good communication (local language + Hindi/English)
Familiarity with computers and billing software
