We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead and manage the Finance & Accounts function of the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, taxation, statutory compliance, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal financial controls.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in accounting principles, taxation, financial analysis, and compliance, preferably within the construction industry. The role requires close coordination with project teams, procurement, operations, auditors, banks, and senior management to ensure effective financial management and business support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliation.
Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of all financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Review journal entries, ledgers, vouchers, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual books of accounts.
2. Financial Reporting & MIS
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, MIS reports, and management reports.
Analyze financial performance, variances, and key financial indicators, providing insights to management.
Develop and maintain financial dashboards for monitoring business performance.
Present periodic financial reports to senior management and directors.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections in coordination with management and operational teams.
Monitor budget utilization and ensure effective cost control across projects and departments.
Analyze project costs, overheads, and profitability to support business decisions.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Ensure timely compliance with all statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other applicable laws.
Review and file monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns within prescribed timelines.
Coordinate with tax consultants and ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations.
Stay updated with changes in taxation laws and regulatory requirements.
5. Construction Project Accounting
Monitor project-wise accounting, cost allocation, and profitability analysis.
Track project expenses, advances, retention money, contractor payments, and work-in-progress (WIP).
Ensure accurate accounting of material purchases, subcontractor bills, and site expenses.
Coordinate with project and procurement teams for cost verification and financial reconciliation.
6. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Monitor daily cash flow, fund requirements, and banking transactions.
Ensure adequate liquidity for operational and project-related requirements.
Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
Oversee payments to vendors, contractors, employees, and statutory authorities.
7. Audit & Internal Controls
Coordinate and manage internal, statutory, tax, and other financial audits.
Establish and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting processes.
Ensure proper documentation and record maintenance for audit purposes.
Implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
8. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, mentor, and supervise the Accounts & Finance team.
Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Coordinate with auditors, consultants, bankers, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Support management in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) is mandatory.
Chartered Accountant (CA), Inter CA, CMA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification will be preferred.
Experience
Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts.
Prior experience in the construction, infrastructure, real estate, or project-based industry will be preferred.
Experience in handling end-to-end accounting, taxation, audits, and financial reporting is mandatory.
Proven experience in leading finance and accounts teams.
