Job Description (JD) – Senior Accountant

Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reports To: Finance Manager / Accounts Head / CFO

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain statutory compliance, and support strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and hands-on experience with accounting software and taxation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Manage bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Ensure timely GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC, and other statutory compliance.

• Prepare and file GST returns, TDS returns, and other financial reports.

• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting.

• Review and authorize accounting entries prepared by junior accountants.

• Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax consultants, and government authorities.

• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.

• Verify vendor payments, customer receipts, and expense reimbursements.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

• Generate MIS reports and financial analysis for management.

• Assist in annual budgeting, cost control, and financial planning.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

• Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) is preferred.

• 3–7 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Experience in GST, TDS, Income Tax, Payroll, and statutory compliance.

• Proficiency in Tally Prime, MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Advanced Formulas), and ERP software.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
