Profile_ Senior Accountant

 – Roles & Responsibilities (Solar Panel Company)

• Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

• Ensure proper accounting of solar project costs, capitalization, depreciation, and revenue recognition.

• Reconcile general ledger, sub-ledgers, bank statements, and inter-company accounts.

• Track and control project-wise costs (modules, inverters, structures, EPC labor, logistics).

• Monitor project budgets vs. actuals and analyze cost variances.

• Account for Work-in-Progress (WIP) for ongoing solar installations.

• Support profitability analysis for rooftop, commercial, and utility-scale solar projects.

• Manage GST compliance, including returns, reconciliations, and input tax credit (ITC) on solar components.

• Handle TDS calculations, filings, and reconciliations.

• Coordinate income tax computations, advance tax, and assessments.

• Ensure compliance with renewable-energy-related tax incentives, if applicable.

• Oversee vendor payments for solar modules, BOS materials, subcontractors, and service providers.

• Monitor customer invoicing, milestone-based billing, and collections.

• Ensure timely and accurate billing as per EPC contracts or PPAs.

• Prepare cash flow forecasts considering project milestones and payment cycles.

• Optimize working capital for large-ticket solar projects.

• Coordinate with banks for fund utilization, LC/BG tracking, and loan compliance.

• Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors.

• Ensure strong internal controls over procurement, inventory, and project accounting.

• Prepare audit schedules and resolve audit queries.

• Support compliance with company policies and SOPs.

• Prepare MIS reports for management on project profitability, cash position, and cost trends.

• Provide financial insights to support pricing, bidding, and tender submissions.

• Assist senior management in financial planning and decision-making.

• Support financial documentation related to subsidies, net-metering, and government schemes.

• Assist in financial reporting related to carbon credits or green energy certifications, if applicable.

Key Skills & Knowledge Areas

• Strong understanding of project accounting and EPC business models.

• Knowledge of GST on solar components and services.

• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally / ERP systems).

• Analytical, compliance-oriented, and detail-focused approach.
