Job description:
1. Prepare and manage financial records related to freight forwarding operations, including import/export transactions.
2. Process and reconcile invoices from vendors, clients, and service providers, including freight, customs, and handling charges.
3. Monitor and manage payments, remittances, and collections for international and domestic shipments.
4. Maintain accurate accounts for container deposits, demurrage charges, and other logistics-related costs.
5. Assist in preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets for operations.
6. Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure accurate billing and cost allocation.
7. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs documentation, and internal financial policies.
8. Handle bank transactions, including letters of credit, and foreign currency exchanges.
9. Support audits and internal controls, ensuring proper documentation of all import/export financial activities.
10. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement within finance and logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional accounting certification (CA/CPA) preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics industries.
Strong knowledge of import/export documentation, customs procedures, and container accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
Knowledge of international remittances, foreign currency transactions, and trade finance is a plus.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
