Job Title: Senior Accountant

Experience: 4 to 5 years

Salary: ₹3,25,000 - ₹3,50,000 per annum

Location: Kolkata

Software Required: Tally Prime

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to handle end-to-end accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance. The ideal candidate will maintain error-free books, manage direct and indirect tax filings, and ensure compliance with government timelines independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• GST Compliance: Prepare and file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B returns. Perform monthly reconciliation of GSTR-2B/2A with purchase registers to ensure accurate Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims.

• TDS Compliance: Handle accurate calculation, deduction, and timely deposit of TDS. File quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q for salaries, Form 26Q for non-salaries) and generate Form 16/16A.

• Income Tax & RoC: Prepare necessary data and schedules for annual income tax returns and statutory tax audits. Manage basic Registrar of Companies (RoC) annual filings and documentation on the MCA portal.

• Accounting & Bookkeeping: Maintain daily books of accounts in Tally. Manage accounts payable (vendor payments) and accounts receivable (customer collections). Conduct monthly bank reconciliation statements (BRS) and regular ledger scrutiny.

• Finalization: Prepare financial statements and close accounts up to the Balance Sheet stage for final auditor review.

Requirements & Skills:

• Experience: 4 to 5 years of core experience handling corporate accounting and taxation (candidates with prior experience in CA firms preferred).

• Technical Skills: Hands-on familiarity with GST, Income Tax, Traces, and MCA portals.

• Education: B.Com Graduate / M.Com / Inter-CA.

• Traits: Sharp attention to detail, strict adherence to statutory deadlines, and ability to execute work with minimal supervision.
