Senior Accountant

Job Title: Sr. Accountant 

Department: Accounts

Experience Required: 8 to 15 Years from industrial / manufacturing (Corrugated industry preferred)

Location: Daheli near Nanaponda, Valsad

Reports To: Accounts Manager

Gender – Male / Female

The Sr. Accountant will oversee daily financial operations, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and support management with accurate cost and financial data. The role requires strong expertise in accounting, costing, taxation, and MIS reporting, with exposure to the unique needs of a corrugated packaging manufacturing unit.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping

·         Manage day-to-day accounts operations including sales, purchase, expenses, and general ledger.

·         Ensure timely reconciliations of bank, vendor, and customer accounts.

·         Maintain fixed assets register and depreciation schedules.

·         Handle month-end and year-end closing.

2. Costing & Inventory Management

·         Prepare product costing (raw paper, board, adhesives, printing ink, labour, power & fuel, wastage).

·         Monitor consumption vs. standards and report variances.

·         Assist in inventory valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

·         Suggest measures for cost optimization in production.

3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

·         Ensure accurate filing of GST, TDS, PF, ESI and other statutory returns.

·         Support statutory audit, tax audit, and internal audits.

·         Ensure compliance with Companies Act and Accounting Standards.

4. MIS & Financial Reporting

·         Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports for management.

·         Monitor receivables, payables, and working capital.

·         Support in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

·         Present profitability analysis by product, customer, and order.

5. Treasury & Banking

·         Manage payments, collections, LC/Bank guarantee, and fund flow.

·         Coordinate with banks for loan documentation and credit facilities.

·         Ensure optimum utilization of working capital.

6. Team Coordination & Support

·         Supervise accounts staff and guide them in routine activities.

·         Coordinate with production, purchase, stores, and dispatch departments for smooth financial control.

·         Support management with data for decision-making.

Required Skills & Competencies

·         Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing systems (preferred corrugated industry).

·         Hands-on experience in Tally ERP / SAP / similar ERP.

·         Expertise in GST, TDS, Taxation & Compliance.

·         Analytical mindset with ability to prepare meaningful MIS reports.

·         Leadership skills for supervising juniors.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualification & Experience

·         Education: B. Com, M. Com and if Inter CA (preferred).

·         Experience: Minimum 8–15 years in accounting, with at least 5–6 years in a manufacturing industry (corrugated packaging preferred).

·         Age Group: 28–35 years (preferred).
