This profile is designed for a highly capable accountant ready to take full responsibility for a company's accounting function, focusing on proficiency in Tally, advanced Excel, and GST compliance. This candidate is flexible and suitable for deployment either in a CA firm setting or directly at a client location.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) is the preferred minimum qualification.
Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in corporate accounting, particularly in managing the books of small to mid-sized businesses.
The Accountant will assume complete ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting operations, financial closing, and statutory compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Transaction Management: Independently manage and record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, bank receipts, payments, journal entries, and fixed asset movements, ensuring adherence to Indian Accounting Standards.
Bank & Cash Reconciliation: Conduct daily and monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts, cash accounts, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure data integrity.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the accounts payable cycle (vendor payments, invoice processing) and the accounts receivable cycle (debtor collections, follow-up, and reconciliation).
Month-End Closing: Execute the full month-end and year-end closing procedures, including passing provisioning entries, calculating accruals, preparing schedules, and verifying inter-branch/inter-company reconciliations.
Financial Preparation: Prepare the final Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Statement, and Balance Sheet, ready for external audit or CA review.
Audit Readiness: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, providing necessary schedules, documentation, and explanations efficiently.
GST Data Preparation: Generate accurate GST data directly from Tally, reconciling the sales register with e-commerce data (if applicable), and validating input tax credit (ITC) based on GSTR-2A/2B.
Return Filing: Independently prepare and file the monthly or quarterly GSTR-1 (Outward Supplies) and GSTR-3B (Summary Return) via the GST portal, ensuring zero late filings and maximizing valid ITC claims.
Compliance & Reconciliation: Handle GST payment challans and manage all GST-related notices or issues, performing periodic reconciliation between GSTR-3B and GSTR-1, and with the books of accounts.
Tally ERP & Prime: Expert-level proficiency in Tally Prime (or Tally ERP 9) for data entry, report generation, security management, and managing ledgers and inventory.
MS Excel: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for critical tasks such as data consolidation, preparing complex schedules, generating MIS reports, using Pivot Tables, and VLOOKUP for rapid reconciliation and analysis.
Accounting Principles: Strong theoretical and practical command of generally accepted Indian accounting principles and finalization procedures.
Statutory Knowledge: Good working knowledge of TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and its basic compliance requirements, in addition to GST.
