Job description
Role & responsibilities
1. Payroll Processing
Collect and verify attendance, leave, and overtime data from HR systems.
Process monthly salaries, incentives, arrears, and deductions accurately.
Ensure timely disbursement of salaries through bank transfers.
Reconcile payroll with finance and maintain supporting documentation.
2. Statutory Compliance
Handle PF, ESI, PT, LWF, and TDS deductions as per statutory norms
Generate and file monthly/quarterly returns through respective portals.
Coordinate with auditors and government departments for compliance audits.
3. Employee Records & Queries
Maintain and update employee payroll master data.
Respond to payroll-related queries from employees.
Issue salary slips, Form 16, and other payroll documents on request.
4. Reporting & MIS
Prepare monthly payroll MIS and variance reports.
Assist in budgeting and cost analysis related to payroll expenses
Coordinate with finance for journal entries and reconciliations.
5. System & Process Management
Manage payroll in ERP / HRMS (e.g., SAP, GreytHR, Zoho People, etc.).
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelors degree in Commerce / HR / Finance
Strong understanding of Indian payroll statutory laws (PF, ESI, PT, TDS).
Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll software/HRMS tools.
