Job Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Finance Manager to manage day-to-day finance operations, ensure statutory compliance, and support business decision-making through accurate reporting, analysis, and strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
• Accounting & Book Closure: Maintain day-to-day accounting entries (GL, AP/AR), reconcile bank/cash/ledgers, and support monthly/quarterly closure
• MIS & Management Reporting: Prepare monthly MIS, dashboards, and variance analysis (actual vs budget) for leadership review
• Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist in preparing budgets/forecasts; track spends and highlight exceptions and improvement opportunities
• Payroll & Employee Reimbursements: Coordinate with HR on payroll inputs; validate salary and statutory deductions; process reimbursements as per policy
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely GST (GSTR-1/3B), TDS, and other applicable statutory filings; maintain compliance calendars and working papers
• Vendor & Customer Management: Manage vendor payments, aging, and reconciliations; follow up on receivables; maintain proper supporting documents
• Audit & Documentation: Coordinate internal/external audits and ensure availability of schedules, confirmations, and audit-ready documentation
• Process Improvement & Controls: Identify control gaps, suggest process automation, and strengthen SOPs to support scalability
Qualifications & Experience
1. Experience: 3–6 years in finance/accounts, with exposure to monthly closing and compliance
2. Education: B.Com / M.Com (CA Inter preferred)
3. Compliance knowledge: Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory requirements; ability to coordinate filings and maintain records
4. Technical skills: Advanced Excel; experience with Tally/ERP and accounting systems
5. Analytical & execution skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and problem-solving mindset
6. Behavioural competencies: High ownership, integrity, stakeholder management, and a continuous-improvement mindset
Key Skills
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end activities
• Working knowledge of GST/TDS and compliance documentation
• Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, basic dashboards)
• Clear communication and coordination with auditors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines with accuracy
Success Measures (KPIs)
• Accuracy: Minimal accounting errors; clean reconciliations and proper supporting documents
• On-time reporting: Monthly MIS and closure completed as per agreed timelines
• Compliance: 100% on-time statutory filings (GST/TDS) with well-maintained working papers
• Controls & efficiency: Identified process improvements implemented to reduce manual effort and strengthen internal controls
