Job Summary:
The Billing Executive is responsible for handling patient billing activities, preparing accurate invoices, processing payments, maintaining billing records, and ensuring smooth coordination with patients, insurance companies, and internal departments. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to hospital billing policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and generate inpatient and outpatient bills accurately and on time.
Verify patient details, treatment charges, investigations, pharmacy bills, and other service charges before final billing.
Coordinate with insurance/TPA departments for cashless and reimbursement billing processes.
Collect payments through cash, card, UPI, or online transactions and issue receipts.
Handle billing queries and provide clarification to patients and attenders professionally.
Ensure all billing documents and approvals are properly maintained and filed.
Reconcile daily collections and submit reports to the Accounts department.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
Coordinate with nursing stations, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments for billing accuracy.
Follow hospital policies, billing procedures, and statutory compliance requirements.
Assist in month-end billing reports and audit requirements.
Perform any other duties assigned by the management.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or any related field.
Additional certification in billing or hospital administration is preferred.
