Role Summary
The Audit & Tax professional will be responsible for assisting in and managing assignments related to audit, taxation, and regulatory compliance. The role involves handling statutory and internal audits, GST and income tax compliances, client coordination, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Audit
Conduct and assist in statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits.
Perform ledger scrutiny, vouching, verification of transactions, and analytical review.
Prepare and review audit working papers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
Identify risk areas, control weaknesses, and compliance gaps.
Assist in preparation and finalization of audit reports and financial statements.
Taxation
Preparation and review of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) and reconciliations.
Preparation and filing of income tax returns for individuals, firms, and companies.
Preparation of tax computations and supporting schedules.
Handle GST and income tax notices, assessments, and departmental correspondence.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain proper documentation, audit files, and compliance trackers.
Ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, and other regulatory requirements.
Assist in preparation of financial statements and reconciliations.
Client & Team Coordination
Coordinate with clients for data collection, clarifications, and documentation.
Support senior team members in execution of assignments.
Review work of junior staff (for manager-level role).
Ensure assignments are completed within deadlines and quality standards.
Skills & Competencies
Good knowledge of accounting, GST, and income tax laws.
Proficiency in Tally, Excel, and accounting/compliance software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and client handling ability.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
