Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of a payday loan/NBFC business. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, payment controls, reconciliations, month-end closing, audit coordination, and support for business finance. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting standards, GST, TDS, payroll accounting, and fintech/NBFC accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Maintain books of accounts in accordance with Accounting Standards and applicable regulations.

Review journal entries, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.

Bank & Payment Reconciliation

Perform daily bank reconciliations.

Reconcile payment gateway settlements and collection accounts.

Monitor customer refunds, chargebacks, and failed transactions.

POS Recon daily basis

Monthly Profitability analysis

Varinace Analysis

Vendor & Expense Management

Verify vendor invoices and supporting documents.

Process payments through maker-checker controls.

Manage vendor advances and employee reimbursements.

Maintain vendor master data.

Cordination with Vendor for smooth Payout process

Preparation of SOPs

Statutory Compliance

Ensure timely compliance with:

GST

TDS

Professional Tax

PF & ESIC (where applicable)

Income Tax requirements

Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Payroll Accounting

Verify payroll journals.

Reconcile salary payments.

Account for employee benefits, incentives, bonuses, and reimbursements.

Month-End & Year-End Closing

Prepare month-end closing schedules.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations.

Prepare MIS reports and variance analysis.

Support statutory and internal audits.

Internal Controls

Ensure compliance with internal financial controls.

Implement SOPs for accounting and payment processes.

Monitor approval workflows and financial governance.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:

Companies Act

Income Tax

Bank Reconciliation

Payment Gateway Reconciliation

Financial Reporting

Experience with ERP systems such as Tally Prime

Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred).

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting controls in a digital lending environment, experience handling high-volume financial transactions, and the ability to ensure timely financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Prior exposure to payday loans, personal loans, consumer lending, or NBFC operations will be a significant advantage.
