Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Account Executive to join the finance team of our D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) brand. This role is built for someone with hands-on exposure to the accounting realities of online-first businesses — marketplace settlements, payment gateway reconciliations, COD collections, and multi-channel sales data. You will support the accounts team in maintaining accurate books, reconciling D2C-specific transactions, and ensuring financial data across all sales channels (website, Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Shopify, and other marketplaces) is clean, timely, and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities — D2C Accounting Focus

• Reconcile daily sales data across D2C channels — own website (Shopify/WooCommerce), Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, and other marketplaces — against payment gateway and bank settlements.

• Process and reconcile marketplace payouts, commission deductions, return/RTO adjustments, and TCS/TDS entries specific to e-commerce marketplaces.

• Handle COD (Cash on Delivery) collections reconciliation with logistics/courier partner reports (Delhivery, Shiprocket, Bluedart, etc.).

• Track and reconcile payment gateway settlements (Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree) against order-level revenue.

• Maintain accurate books for returns, refunds, and cancellations — a high-volume, recurring task in D2C accounting.

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor invoices for logistics, packaging, digital marketing, and fulfillment partners.

• Assist in inventory-linked cost tracking and coordinate with the operations/warehouse team for stock and COGS accuracy.

• Prepare channel-wise sales and reconciliation reports (MIS) for management review.

• Support monthly closing, GST filing data preparation, and audits with accurate, marketplace-tagged transaction records.

• Maintain organized documentation of marketplace invoices, credit notes, and settlement reports for audit trail.

• Coordinate with the operations, D2C sales, and customer support teams to resolve data or reconciliation discrepancies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

• 1-2 years of accounting experience, with prior exposure to a D2C brand, e-commerce company, or online marketplace seller preferred.

• Working knowledge of marketplace reconciliation (Amazon/Flipkart/Myntra settlement reports) is a strong advantage.

• Familiarity with payment gateways, COD reconciliation, and return/RTO accounting in an online retail context.

• Basic understanding of GST, TCS/TDS as applicable to e-commerce transactions.

• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting/ERP software (Tally, Zoho Books, or similar).

• Strong attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy.

• Comfortable handling high transaction volumes and repetitive data with consistency.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly.

• Organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage month-end closing timelines.

• Clear communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams (Ops, Sales, Warehouse).

• Willingness to learn evolving marketplace policies and D2C finance processes.
