Job Summary
The Retail Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the retail store. This includes maintaining financial records, processing sales and purchase transactions, managing invoices, monitoring inventory, reconciling accounts, handling GST-related documentation, and preparing financial reports. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and coordination with the sales, warehouse, and management teams to ensure smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Record daily sales, purchase, receipt, and payment entries.
Prepare and verify tax invoices, debit notes, credit notes, and purchase bills.
Manage cash, bank, and petty cash transactions with daily reconciliation.
Perform customer, vendor, and bank account reconciliations.
Maintain accurate inventory and stock records in coordination with the warehouse team.
Verify purchase orders, goods received, and supplier invoices.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up when required.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS and financial reports.
Assist in GST billing, documentation, and compliance.
Maintain proper filing of accounting documents and financial records.
Coordinate with the sales, warehouse, and management teams for smooth operations.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documents.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and statutory requirements.
Identify discrepancies in financial transactions and resolve them promptly.
