Job Title: Accountant – NLS Construction

Location: Sheshadripuram Banglore
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To:Managing Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our construction company. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction accounting practices, job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance, and supporting project profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports

• Handle job costing and project accounting

• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and profitability

• Process subcontractor payments and track retention amounts

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

• Manage payroll processing and related tax filings

• Prepare and file VAT/GST/Sales Tax returns (if applicable)

• Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

• Coordinate with project managers regarding project financial performance

• Support external audits and tax preparation

• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA / CMA (preferred but not mandatory)

• 3–5 years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)

• Strong knowledge of job costing and construction accounting principles

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or similar)

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience with construction management software

• Knowledge of contract accounting and percentage-of-completion method

• Understanding of lien waivers, subcontract agreements, and retention tracking
