Core Responsibilities Accounts Assistant
1. Bookkeeping & Data Entry
Recording daily financial transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments in accounting systems.
2. Managing Invoices
Preparing and issuing invoices to customers, as well as verifying and processing supplier invoices.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Tracking money owed by customers (accounts receivable)
• Managing payments to suppliers (accounts payable)
• Following up on outstanding payments
4. Bank Reconciliation
Comparing company records with bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
5. Expense Tracking
Monitoring company expenses and maintaining proper documentation (bills, receipts).
6. Assisting with Financial Reports
Helping prepare basic reports such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
7. Payroll Support
Assisting in salary calculations, deductions, and maintaining payroll records (in some companies).
8. Tax & Compliance Support
Helping with GST, TDS, or other tax-related documentation and filings (especially relevant in India).
9. Filing & Documentation
Maintaining organized financial records, both digital and physical, for audits and reference.
10. Supporting Senior Accountants
Providing assistance during audits, financial reviews, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
